Boat Hire Times
You can choose a morning, afternoon or evening hire time. 6 hour hires can only be taken from a morning or afternoon slot.
Departure times are every 15 minutes from 8.00am to 6.00pm depending on the season and day.
We currently have to hire:
Canadian Canoes, these are Nova Craft Prospector open canoes. Canadian Canoes are paddled with a single sided paddle. These boats are more likely to rock and sometimes tip if you lose central balance. A responsible adult over the age of 18 must be in the boat at all times while being used. The Weight Capacity of these canoes are 850lbs / 386kg.
We have currently have three sizes of canoes;
1) 15ft, 2 seater canoes to accommodate a dog or a smaller child you might not want to climb on a seat.
2) 16ft, 3 seater canoes to accommodate three adult size people or two adults and two small children (a broad estimate would be under the age of 10 years old, the two children would have to share the middle seat).
3) 17ft, 4 seater canoes to accomodate a family of 4 people where the children won’t fit on a shared seat, unfortunately not suitable for 4 adults.
Kayaks, these are super stable sit-on-top kayaks, you are very unlikely to tip these boats over but you may get wet from paddling. When seated in the kayak your legs are straight out in front of you. Kayaks have double sided paddles. A responsible adult over the age of 18 must be on the water with any under 18’s at all times while being used. The Weight Capacity of these kayaks are 551lbs / 250kg.
We have currently two sizes of kayaks;
1) Single kayaks for a single user.
2) Double kayaks that seat two adults and a small child (probably under the age of 7 years old) or dog.
Stand Up Paddleboards, these are 10`6" stable boards. They take an adult or an adult and a small child. These can be paddled from a kneeling, seated or standing position. Under 18s are not able to use a paddleboard without an adult on the water with them. Not suitable for under 10s to paddle without an adult on the board with them. The Weight Capacity of these boards are 308lbs / 140kg.
Youth Stand Up Paddleboards, these are 8” stable boards. They take a child aged between 9 and 15 years old. These can be paddled from a kneeling, seated or standing position. Under 18s must have an adult on the water with them at all times. The Weight Capacity of these boards are 132lb/60kg
Rowing Boat, this is a large stable rowing boat that can seat 6 people, dogs are welcome too. Perfect for a picnic on the water. As this is a heavier boat you may not get as far or go as quickly as you would in the canoes/kayaks/paddleboards.
