On-Site Lighting Policy
Three Rivers Pitch & Paddle is located within the beautiful Waveney Valley on the southern edge of the Norfolk Broads. The area is valued for its peaceful atmosphere, abundant wildlife and naturally dark skies. Geldeston is proud of its low levels of light pollution, and we ask all guests to help us preserve this special environment.
To minimise disturbance to wildlife, neighbouring residents and fellow campers, we kindly ask that you follow these guidelines:
- Please do not erect lights higher than your tent, caravan, motorhome or campervan.
- Bright white, coloured, flashing, neon or decorative festoon lighting is not permitted.
- Only low-level, warm white fairy lights may be used around your pitch, such as inside awnings or gazebos, or around windbreaks.
- Light poles, illuminated flags and any lighting designed to project over neighbouring pitches are not permitted.
- Please switch off all unnecessary outdoor lighting before going to bed.
Vehicle Lights After Dusk
To help maintain the peaceful atmosphere after dark, please avoid driving around the site after dusk wherever possible.
If you are arriving late or returning after an evening out:
- Drive slowly and keep dipped headlights on at all times.
- Turn your engine and headlights off as soon as you reach your pitch.
- Avoid leaving vehicles idling or using headlights to illuminate your pitch.
Thank you for helping us protect our dark skies and ensuring everyone can enjoy the tranquillity of Three Rivers Pitch & Paddle.
