Our Canadian Canoes and Double Sit-on-Top Kayaks are open for hire!

  • Due to Covid 19 our system is currently done without coming in contact with each other, please email or WhatsApp me to receive our Hire Agreement which will need to be agreed to before the day of your hire.
  • Payment for your hire will need to be paid by BACs on the day of your booking to ensure your slot or cash on arrival.
  • At present you are only able to share a boat with members of your household. If you are from separate households you must hire separate boats. Unless you are in a bubble with another household.
  • There will be time slots all 30 minutes apart to choose from and availble slots will be confirmed and sent with the Hire Agreement.
  • On your hire day please arrive 10 minutes before your designated time and use the hand sanitiser on the steps to the floating pontoon before putting on the buoyancy aids set out for you. I will need to know your weights in KG beforehand to have the appropriate buoyancy aids out for you.
  • I will remain 2 meters away to ensure you put them on correctly and for any questions. If you need assistance I do have PPE to put on.
  • Your boat will be ready waiting for you in the water, if it is not please allow me time to finish setting up before coming on the pontoon.
  • When you return, please ensure no one is already on the pontoon, if there is please remain 2 metres away until the floating pontoon has been cleared and if ready for you to tie up.
  • Leave all equipment and vacate the area being careful to remain in line with social distancing measures if anyone else is still packing up/leaving.  Note: Our site is also used by people launching their private equipment.
  • Once you leave the pontoon I will sanitise the equipment throughly.

The current hire rates are £25 for 3 hours hire and £35 for 6 hours hire per boat, buoyancy aids are included in this price.

Our Canadian Canoes can accomodate up to 3 adult size people or 2 adult size people and 2 small children (they will need to sit side by side) plus room for a dog depending on size.

Our double sit-on-top fishing kayaks can hold 2 adult size people and 1 small child or dog.  Our double kayaks can also be configured for a single passenger.

Unfortunately at present our boats can only be hired by users over the age of 18 years, under 18 year old are NOT permitted to use/operate our boats on their own, a responsible adult over the age of 18 years must be on the boat with an under 18 year old at all times. Therefore an adult cannot hire a boat for anyone under the age of 18 years and let them use it alone. Hopefully we can provide hires for under 18s in the future.

From our site you can paddle up to Ellingham Mill, which is beautiful and takes about an hour or so (a couple hours round trip) depending on your paddling speed of course and which way the tide is heading.  On the way to Ellingham Mill there is a right hand fork that also takes you to the Geldeston Locks pub which hopeful will be able to reopen soon. You can also paddle to Beccles which takes roughly an hour and a half (again over 3 hours round trip and depending on your pace!).  Beccles has a plethra of places to visit, including the Lido which is the outdoor pool, the Beccles Quay, many eateries (some offering take aways now) and you can continue further past Beccles if you wish as well, the Broads network carries on to Oulton Broad or up to Norwich.
