Welcome To Three Rivers

Hello and thank you for dropping onto our website.  Three Rivers is a family owned and ran campsite located in the quaint village of Geldeston, Norfolk situated along the Waveney River which is part of the Norfolk Broads System.  We are trying to create a back to nature, wild camping experience but with modern, luxury facilities on site.  Our waterside site is ideal for those water sports enthusiasts looking to bring their canoes, kayaks, paddleboards or perhaps just their wetsuits for an open water swim (river used at own risk!) and utilise what the Waveney River has to offer - there is no additional launching charges for those booked in to stay with us, this is all included in the per person nightly fees.  We do welcome people to come and launch who are not staying with us as well but this does come with a launching fee.

We welcome motorhomes, touring caravans and all campers to come and stay with us on our riverside site to enjoy the marsh and river views, the beautiful nature and wildlife around us and have a peaceful and restful stay without disturbing the natural surroundings.  We are surrounded by wildlife such as barn owls, kingfishers, otters, herons, egrets, red kites, woodpeckers and recently (latter part of 2019) a seal!

Geldeston is a quiet village without street lamps and is well known for it`s darkness. There are plenty of local walks, two great and very different local pubs within walking distance or paddling distance if you fancy that instead!

A little about our family... I`m Jodi, I write the website, I answer the phone calls and the emails and the texts and WhatsApps!  I manage the bookings, clean the site, hire the boats, oh and we have two children who I do most of the looking after because James, my other half, works Monday to Friday running his other business.  James however can be found helping on site when there are things that need fixing or when I need a hand, quite often he helps put the boats away at the end of the day and facilitates the upgrades each year - very important!
I try my best to get back to booking enquiries nightly/within 24 hours but please be patient as I will respond as soon as I can, however if you are looking to book same day or the following night please do call/text/WhatsApp as I do see these quicker than emails.

What we are trying to achieve here at Three Rivers is a camping space where you are not elbow to elbow with other pitches, you can pitch facing any direction and with whomever you wish.  We want a space that is beautiful and we are planning to plant shrubs and bushes to create gardens to enjoy as well as for the wildlife to thrive. In 2019 we planted some rows of Red Robins on the main field to eventually create some privacy but also for the birds and hedgehogs to thrive in, we also added bee bombs into the long grass of the wild camping areas to hopefully bring more variety of wild flowers for the bees and the butterflies.

Our Facilities

"The Boat Shed" houses our modern facilities including luxury shower rooms, a kitchen area which includes a fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle and washing up sink, finally part of our Boat Shed does indeed store our hire boats: canoes and kayaks which are available to staying guests as well as visitors!  We have available electric hook-up pitches for those who wish to have a few more home comforts, two launching areas, one at the wild camping end of our site accessible by car which is direct into the Waveney River and has a quay heading right next to it, and one into our dyke from our our floating pontoon which is attached to our Boat Shed facilities building.

Our Expectations

  • We try to be pretty flexible as we just want you to come and enjoy our great space, however there are a few things we do ask...
  • Well behaved children welcome, children must be supervised by parents/responsible adults at all times as there is open, tidal water all around the site. Children also must be accompanied to the facilities by parents/responsible adults as this area is not a play area and is not to be left flooded etc. Nature play is greatly encouraged, however please if your children pull out sticks/branches/stones etc onto the field/into the mown bays please can you return them to where ever they came from before you leave as they can be a danger if not seen when mowing.
  • Please bring your own campfire pit that is held off the ground, we don`t want burn marks all over our field (burn marks found will be charged a re-seeding fee). We do have a small number of fire pits to hire.
  • Well behaved, quiet furry friends are welcomed but please clean up after them and keep them on leads in respect of the other campers.
  • Please empty all BBQs and fire pits safely in our bonfire site, so we don`t have any unwanted wild fires!
  • Bring a washing up bowl - we have a kitchen area and sink but there isn`t a sink plug, so we don`t have a flooding problem if the tap is left on.
  • We are keen to recycle, so please try and follow the signs on site, normal waste is acceptable but please do not leave broken furniture or equipment behind.
  • Anyone not abiding to these requests may be asked to leave - no refunds!
